Materials:  a Smart Board, a computer, Solutions2, Posnaiko Audio CD, tangerines, oranges.

T: Good morning, young ladies and gentlemen! I am so glad to see you. How are you today? T-P

T: Children, let¢s have more joyful greeting. Do you know any songs as to great each other? Let¢s sing “Hello, how are you!”

2.Оголошення теми та цілей урока.

 

T : So, first of all let us solve the task to find out the topic of our lesson. Look at the pictures on the blackboard. Write the words in the crossword. If you do it right, you will see the Key Word.

(Children do the crossword in their individual cards then read aloud the Key Word).

     As you can see, the topic of our today’s lesson is “Food. Tastes”. So, today we’re going to speak about your favourite food.

    We¢ll activize the vocabulary on this topic. We¢ll revise and train the grammar material: the structures with “some/any”, countable, uncountable nouns. We¢ll have a lot of group work. And at last we¢ll have fun learning the English language. So, be active and attentive at the lesson and I hope that in the end of the lesson you¢ll have great results.

 

3. Організаційний момент.

 

3.1 T : As usual the first step of our work is the Phonetic Drill. Today we¢re going to train sounds [w], [ð]. I¢ll read you the poem line by line and you¢ll repeat after me

 

Whether the weather is fine

Or whether the weather is not

Whether the weather is cold

Or whether the weather is hot

Be thankful forever     

Whatever the weather

Whether we like it or not

 

T: And now let¢s have 2 teams. Let us call them ORANGES and TANGERINES. The first row is the first team; the second row is the second team. You¢ll get 1 point for each correct answer and at the end of the lesson we¢ll see who wins. So, let¢s have a competition. The first team starts saying the poem, the second continuous after my clap. Try to say it correctly because I will give you the rewards for this task.

3.2 T : And now let¢s have the Oral Drill. Children look through the window and tell me please what the weather is like today? We will do this type of work in chain.

          - What is your favourite season?

          - My favourite season is winter.

          - Why do you like it?

4.1 T: And now we are coming to our topic “Food. Tastes”. So, let¢s study the      words. Look at the pictures, listen and repeat

4.3 And now let¢s have some other kind of work. I¢d like to know how well you know the definitions of the words. So I¢ll explain you the meaning of the word and you¢ll say what word it is.

1) A small sweet thing that you eat (usually at the end of a meal) → a sweet (Br.E) or a candy (Am.E)

2) A type of sweet that you chew for a long time but do not swallow (a chewing gum)

3) A long sausage that people eat in a piece of bread (a hot dog)

4) A vegetable that smells and makes you cry (onion)

5) A very thin piece of potato cooked in hot oil and eaten cold (crisp) a bag of crisps

6) A long thin piece of potato that has been cooked in oil (chip) Would you like chips with your burger? (Am.E. French Fry)

7) A sweet dish with candles (cake)

8) A drink made of fruit ( fruit juice)

The teacher gives pupils rewards for correct answers.

And now I¢d like to find out what you usually have for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Let¢s do this kind of work in chain. Try to use different phrases which express your opinion.

  And now we are going to have listening. You will see the traditional English family. They are 4 in the family. They are Nick, Molly, Mum and Dad.

Now you will know their food preferences. So, let’s watch.
